Kin Dza Dza
Arguably, it's the best sci fi comedy ever made and yet it's also the most famous film that nobody has ever heard of! Kin Dza Dza is a giant of science fiction and near the top of all good sci fi movie lists. If you like good, unusual cult sci fi -you need to see this film! FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Faq's
• The fanfic forum will start off basically working the same as the other forums, except that only registered nicks can participate.
• The stories can be put up whole, or edited as they're written, and feedback and announcements will be in the thread below. If you post you story in sections DONOT start a new thread, just EDIT the original post. Then post a comment with the feedbacks noting the update. That will move it to the top of the posts, indicating that something new has been added.
Rules
• no flaming,
• no plagiarizing without permission.
• no hard core porn. As a rule erotica would be okay, but XXX and snuff are definitely not. If you aren’t sure about yours, ask a moderator to look at it, before you post it.
• no pointless gory violence (unless it's integral to an actual plotline and then it should be done by suggestion rather than graphic detail)
• No use of real people's names without permission

FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by stormsweeper on Mon, 28/10/2002 - 22:39.Lexx.com isn't really well suited for fan fiction, but if you plan to post any there, I'll hold it to this same criteria, more or less.

Submitted by thefrey on Wed, 19/05/2004 - 18:53.The link goes to a Salter Street Submission Form, that Sargent Dranio sent to me a while back. I know no one needs it now, but I just thought you might be interested in what is on one.
Now if anyone has a script format submission guide, I would also be interested in seeing that. http://www.thefrey.com/saltersteetsubmissionform.htm

Are the instructions still valid? Can we just add on to the previous text? I noticed Sad had to divide some of the older fictions into several sections, and frey's new chapter was posted by Sad.
Yeah, you guessed it, I'm almost ready to add section 2 :?

Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by nursewhen on Mon, 19/05/2003 - 09:19.Is there a limit on how long an individual post should be? I have an elephant to post. Should I break it up and into what size chunks?
Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by thefrey on Mon, 19/05/2003 - 10:28.Well the last monster one that was here was broken up in to chunks of about 15 pages a post. Make sure once you are done to go back and edit your posts with the links to the other sections.

Submitted by Flamegrape on Mon, 19/05/2003 - 14:41.What sort of word-count might that be? Perhaps the number of words per post might be a good unit of measure? I don't know.
Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by SadGeezer on Mon, 19/05/2003 - 20:53.Naaa. It's not size that's important - it's width!
I think that this software will handle very large posts - they'd just take a VERY long time to load and read. Better to post a page at a time.
The onlt problem that this baord has is width formatting. VERY VERY large words or wide images can force the width of the page past the borders of the monitor making the post difficult to read. For this reason trherefore, people should try to use short URLs and only small/medium images.
There isn't a limit on words per post .... at least I don't think so.
Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by elmey on Tue, 20/05/2003 - 01:47.I think there might be--I posted some fiction a while ago and when I tried to add part 2, I could't add all of it to the first post, it cut me off somewhere towards the end. I had to do a separate post.
But I don't think you'd normally notice--you can probably go up to maybe 5,000 words (so I write long-winded chapters  )
I don't remember ever rambling on that long in a regular thread.

Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by Meep on Tue, 20/05/2003 - 02:59.Speaking of width... I just checked the avatar uploading section and it said I needed an image of less than 80x80. I already have my avatar downloaded onto my comp, how would I change this 90x72 pic to something smaller?
Re:FanFic Rules and posting instructions
Submitted by nursewhen on Tue, 20/05/2003 - 11:30.Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm getting very confused between what is a post, a page and a thread. :? And how long is a page?
What I've currently got loaded into the misadventures of Agent When is only 1/8 of the total archive.
Do I need to open a new thread with the next part? Is what I've got in there so big already that I'm excluding people with dial ups and turning people off because they've got to wade through a mile of scrolling to find new stuff?
Help and advise very much appreciated.

..
I was wondering generally what the internet has done to witers and the book and magazine publishing industry.
Some wonderings:
Are writers losing their incomes?.
Is there more professional writing now done from the public?
Are publishers gearing towards internet/email submissions?
Are books and mags sales spiralling downwards?
